My name is Yael Shemer and I am so excited to be a part of the Dingeman Family! I have been teaching since 1997, and have taught kindergarten through fifth grade. I live in Scripps Ranch and love being able to work in the community where I live!
I have lived here in San Diego since 1980 and attended San Diego Unified Schools for grades one through twelfth. I graduated from UCHS in 1992 and continued to SDSU for my bachelor's degree. I officially began my teaching career in Los Angeles Unified and then came back to San Diego, where I joined SDUSD and went on to get my Masters in Education.
When I'm not at school you will find me spending quality time with my family. I have a loving, supportive husband and three wonderful children! We love spending time with our two dogs at the lake, the beach, and home--we especially enjoy hiking, and travelling! I recharge when I find a good book, pick up a pencil and draw/sketch/design, and when I take the time to meditate. My newest passion is gardening!
Teaching gives me the opportunity to combine all those things I enjoy the most! I could not wish for a better career in this life journey and, even after all these years, I absolutely LOVE showing up every day to see the bright eyes, to hear the excitement of learning, and to feel the love in my community of learners!
